Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo

Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo are home to more than 33,000 aquatic creatures. The Aquarium's 10-million litre tank is located on the Ground Level of The Dubai Mall. It is the world's largest suspended aquarium, displaying more than 140 different species, among them 300 sharks and rays. Dubai Aquarium is home to the largest collection of Sand Tiger sharks in the world too and boasts King Croc as one of its other attractions, an enormous Australian crocodile that continues to grow and grow!

Visitors can walk through a huge tunnel to see see creatures from a diver's perspective. The aquarium tank is 51 meters long and 20 meters wide and 11 meters high.

In the Underwater Zoo King Croc reigns supreme. Weighing 750kgs and measuring more than 5 meters in length, the crocodile originates from Queensland, Australia, and is about 40 years old.

Families can choose from several different types of experiences, among them a cage snorkeling experience, where they can encounter thousands of marine creatures and a behind-the-scenes tour. They can also watch regular shark feedings, where visitors can assist, or simply enjoy a ride on a glass-bottom boat.

Prices
The Senior Aquarist experience costs AED 262.50 per person and is suitable for children aged 8 to 15. It includes a behind-the-scenes tour. This programme is offered Sundays to Thursdays from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm. Advance bookings are a must.

The VIP Experience costs AED315.00 (ca. US$85.76) per person and includes a visit to the Underwater Zoo and a stroll through the aquarium tunnel as well as the behind-the-scenes tour and a visit to the underwater observatory. This experience is not suitable for children less than three-years-old.

The Explorer Experience costs AED175.00 (ca. US$47.64) per person and includes a ride in a submersible simulator and glass-bottom boat. The package is not suitable for pregnant guests or children less than three-years-old. For an additional AED120.00 (ca. US$32.67) parents and their children can visit the Underwater Zoo and walk through the Aquarium Tunnel. Children less than three-years-old go free.
